Denison's HeyDay nears completion
After two years of planning and construction, the doors of HeyDay are officially set to open in Denison in November.
"We will offer bowling, laser tag, ropes course, mini-golf, and a lovely arcade with a wide variety of games," said Brooke Willhite, VP of Sales for HeyDay.
Brenden Hughes lives in Oklahoma and has been eyeing HeyDay's opening day for months.
"Its a tad closer to the Denison area, so that will be less of a drive for the people in the Oklahoma area especially," said Hughes.
This will be the first HeyDay location outside of Oklahoma, and Willhite says there are some improvements with the franchise's newest building.
"They're really similar, but we expanded the arcade so it's even larger than the one in Norman," said Willhite.
Hughes has his sights set on one attraction in particular.
"Honestly the putt-putt. I'm a golfer, and it would be competitive for me so I will be looking for the putt-putt for sure," said Hughes.
Willhite says over 60 days of rain delays during 2018 pushed back the original opening date of the multi-million dollar facility, but now that the real opening day is on the horizon they will be welcoming in new employees in the coming days.
"We are hiring 100 plus people. I believe we even have some management positions open as well," said Willhite.
"It'll be for sure a spot we take our children to. I got a two and five-year-old at home, so it would be fun to check it out with them and see how much fun they have," said Hughes.
Willhite says there will be hiring events at Denison's Hilton Garden Inn October 3, 7 and 9 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., as well as a job fair event October 5 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
