DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - Deputies are investigating after a man was stabbed several times and possibly robbed at a Denison motel early Sunday morning.

Jason Jackson had just gotten out of the shower when he heard banging on his motel room door.

"I recognized the voice after a minute of the banging. I heard the words, 'he's been stabbed,'" he said.

Jackson came outside and was greeted by hordes of law enforcement.

"That's whenever I kicked it into gear."

Employees at the Texoma Motel on State Highway 91 and US 75 in Denison said it happened in a room just after midnight Sunday.

"He was bleeding pretty bad," Jackson said about the victim.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office tell us one or more people came to the motel and tried to rob the victim. They said they then stabbed him several times and ran off.

Jackson knew the victim and says they were friends.

"There was blood everywhere, smears of blood," Jackson said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Jackson said he's lived at the motel for years and hasn't seen anything like it.

"It ain't a bad place at all, it's just old," he said. "It's pretty laid back."

Nobody has been arrested and no suspect description or location has been released.

If you have any information, you're asked to call the sheriff's office dispatch at 903-813-4411.
