Deputies arrest 2 men with 20 pounds of marijuana in Cooke County
Deputies arrested two people in Cooke County after a traffic stop uncovered $180,000 worth of marijuana.
Eriberto Rodriguez, 22, of Marietta, Oklahoma faces third-degree felony charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
Jesiah D. Wade, 23, of Manchester, New Hampshire faces a third-degree felony charge for possession of marijuana.
Deputies say during a traffic stop Jan. 17, probably cause was obtained for a K9 search. Deputies searched the vehicle after they say the K9 alerted.
Inside the trunk, deputies found two large black plastic trash bags. Inside those bags, deputies found 19 packages of a "green, leafy substance with the odor of marijuana" weighing about 20 pounds.
Deputies also uncovered two cartridges of liquid THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana, along with $5,800 cash.
The two were arrested and have since bonded out of the Cooke County Jail.
