SHERMAN, Texas -- Shancey Franklin received a 40 year prison sentence after being convicted for tampering with evidence and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

It took a jury eight minutes to return with the guilty verdict. Franklin will be eligible for parole in eight years.

Police arrested Franklin this past July in a local hotel. Undercover officers said they found him in possession of a quarter ounce of drugs.
