Durant residents looking to raise money for new senior center

DURANT, Okla. (KXII)- Folks from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, or RSVP, are looking to move out of their 40 year old building and move into the Northwest church of Christ, which will cost $400,000.

RSVP has half of that, and need another $200,000 by the end of the month for the sale to go through.

Gay Cunningham says she has been working on getting a new senior citizen center in town for the past 11 years.

"Its really sweet because some of the little ladies that are probably on a fixed income have written a check. That's their part in helping. They know it would be a better place for everybody if we could just have the facility," said Cunningham.

You can make donations to RSVP at the First Texoma National Bank, at 420 W. Main St. Durant, Okla.
