DURANT, Okla. (KXII) - Durant police have arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man and woman Monday.
Police confirm Jarrick Hageon and Jessica Espinoza were shot and killed on March 2, 2020. (KXII)
The first happened just after 11 a.m. inside a house on Stonebrook Circle, where police say Jarrick Hageon was shot dead.
Police say a juvenile witness advised the suspect was Kyon Gray.
Around 2 p.m., police arrested Gray, 35, after police found him driving on Highway 70 in Bryan County. They say he admitted to shooting Hageon.
Police say around 3 p.m., Jessica Espinoza was found shot dead inside a car on Sunnyside Road. They believe Gray is responsible for her death as well.
Court records show just over a week ago, Gray went to jail for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor and bonded out on Tuesday.
On Thursday, records show Espinoza filed a protective order against him and Monday, police say she was found dead.
Neighbors and close friends said she was a mother with several young children.
"Just crazy. Very hurtful for the kids. She was a great mom. She worked hard. She loved her kids for sure. She did everything possible to make sure her kids had what they needed," said Tina Posey, who lives right behind Espinoza's house on Stonebrook Circle.
They haven't released a motive to the shootings.
Durant Public Schools placed their intermediate and middle school campuses on precautionary lockdowns Monday.
