FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - Fannin County commissioners are discussing renaming the North Texas Municipal Lake at Tuesday's commissioner's court meeting.
Last month, the North Texas Municipal water district broke ground on the $1.6 billion lake. Until then, locals thought it would be named the Lower Bois D'arc Lake, but they announced the new name in May.
On Tuesday commissioners will be passing a resolution to change the name to the Bois D'Arc Lake like originally planned.
The public is invited to come share their opinion at 9 a.m. The Fannin County judge said he will be presenting the resolution to the Board of Directors in July.
