BONHAM, Tex. (KXII) -- The Fannin County Sheriff's office posted Wednesday on its Facebook page that deputies arrested Jeremy Michael Stevenson early Wednesday morning.

Stevenson was wanted by Greenville Police for a parole violation and for questioning regarding the death of a 1-month-old baby girl.

Deputies said Stevenson was arrested near CR 4515 in Trenton when he was found hiding in a tree.

Mary Shimer said Stevenson is her son's old friend, and she met him for the first time on Tuesday, when he showed up to stay at her son's trailer, right behind her house.

She said she immediately knew something wasn't right.

"He's all calm and collected telling me this and I get really nervous about it because how can you be so calm after you just lost a baby,"? Shimer said. "And now you've got the police looking for you to talk to you."

Shimer said she was afraid, and that is what prompted her to contact police. Shortly after, officials were conducting a manhunt on her property.

"About four hours later, the SWAT team, FCSO (Fannin County Sheriff's Office), everybody arrived, and they searched the house," Shimer said.

On Tuesday, Stephanie Flynn, 27, and Shawn Flynn, 20, were arrested by Greenville Police and charged with tampering with evidence. Officials said they believe the baby may have died at home, a few miles from the convenience store where the infant was discovered.

"I don't know the parents but judging from the way he was, and from the background of her history, that baby is in a lot better place than it would be here," Shimer said.

Stevenson remains in the Fannin County jail without bond.
