Fannin County high speed pursuit ends in crash

FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) -- Savoy Police are investigating after a man took them on a high speed chase ending in a crash Friday.

Savoy Police Chief Carl Harrell said he saw a 27-year-old man breeze by him on State Highway 56 in Savoy Friday night around 9 p.m. driving 106 miles per hour.

Police said the man drove all the way to Honey Grove, driving around 100 miles per hour before he crashed in a telephone pole.

He was flown to a Plano hospital where he is currently in the ICU.

Police said he's facing felony evading charges. Police said they are unsure why he went on the pursuit in the first place.
