Truck driver killed in Garvin Co. crash

WYNNEWOOD, Okla. (KXII) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 61-year-old Texas truck driver was killed in a crash with another semi on Interstate 35 in Garvin County Monday.

OHP reports Carlos Escoto of Garland, TX died at the scene, according to State Medical Examiner Investigator John Miller.

The other driver, 24-year-old Christopher McCaleb of Mesquite, TX, was transported to Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, OK and treated for injuries. McCaleb was released.

The accident happened at mile marker 68 (State Highway 29) near Wynnewood.

McCaleb's truck was parked on the outside shoulder of I-35 at the 68 mile marker. Escoto's truck was travelling northbound when it went off the road and struck McCaleb's truck.

Authorities are investigating Escoto's condition and the cause of the collision.
