A fire at Texoma Marina on Lake Texoma destroyed a part of a dock and a house boat Monday night.

Multiple trucks from four fire departments responded, but only one tug boat was able to fight the fire due to the high lake level.

Fire crews put out the fire around 9 p.m.

The Whitesboro Fire Department said they received the call around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Crews were not able to get hoses on nearby docks because the lake is still high.

Since the fire was at a body of water, Whitesboro fire said crews could only fight the fire using water instead of chemicals which smother the flames. Chemicals are usually used in building fires.

Good Samaritans were able to pull other boats from the dock and get them out of harm's way.

EMS treated one man on scene for minor injuries.

Authorities said there was no electricity running to the dock so fire crews had to fight this fire using only flashlights.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause.
