PARIS, Tex. (KXII) - Fire damaged a downtown Paris building Monday morning.

Firefighters say it happened at the corner of Main and Lamar, sparking around 6 a.m.

We're told the parts damaged make an "L" shape, so the corner only has smoke damage but the surrounding part of the block took "significant damage."

Paris interim fire chief Thomas McMonigle says the cause of the fire has not been determined, but says the building has gone through renovations in the past month.

He says the fire is controlled, and no one was injured.

McMonigle says this area of downtown will be closed until the remaining hot spots are put out, which could be the rest of the day.
