Fire destroys home, Powderly firefighter taken to hospital
POWDERLY, Texas (KXII) -- While firefighters were on the call on FM 906, they were called to a structure fire about five miles away in Powderly on county road 44150.
One end of a mobile home was engulfed when firefighters got there.
The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire.
Powderly Volunteer Fire Department Chief Roger Bussell says, that Powderly firefighter Daniel Grimes was treated on scene and taken to PRMC for smoke inhalation.
The cause of that fire unknown as well.
Late this afternoon Lamar County officials enacted an emergency burn ban, effective immediately.
