Former Denison middle school coach sentenced to 5 years probation for relationship with student

A former Denison middle school teacher and coach has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.

Tharon Lance Day pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to five years probation. A Grayson County grand jury indicted him on the charge in April.

The student told investigators they started chatting while preparing for bible study with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The student said shortly after they began chatting, they exchanged photos after Day asked for nude pictures over Snapchat.

According to court records, Day told investigators he "wouldn't deny it" and when asked if he sent pictures of his erection he said, "I ain't sending no softie."

Day told investigators he has a "little sex demon" that lives inside him and it got the better of him.
