TOM BEAN, Tex. (KXII) - A Grayson County grand jury has indicted a former city councilman after his arrest for driving around town shooting at dogs.
It happened in April when Lonnie Jones was a Tom Bean city councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem.
Police say he shot in the direction of two people while trying to shoot dogs at FM 902 and 2729.
In police body cam video, Jones says he was trying to kill the dogs because they killed his cat, and that the cat was his best friend.
He could get 10 years in prison if convicted on deadly conduct and a count of animal cruelty.
He lost his bid to be on city council in May.
