Two more Texoma schools closing due to flu

ATOKA, Okla. (KXII) - Five Texoma school have closed for the flu since Jan. 25.

Atoka and Hugo schools both announced Monday they will be closing due to flu and flu like illness.

Atoka is scheduled to close Tuesday and Wednesday, while Hugo is closing through the rest of the week.

According to their facebook page, Hugo ISD made the decision to close after talking with medical professionals.

Hugo administration say athletics will continue as scheduled, but ask those with fevers to stay home while the facilities are sanitized.

Three other school districts—Detroit, North Lamar and Lone Grove schools—have experienced illness related closures since January.
