Friend of Madill homicide victim speaks out

MADILL, Okla. (KXII) - "I was sitting back in my chair and then I heard a pop and I ran back there," David Davis said.

David Davis owns lives at the home on East Wolf Street.

He says Tuesday morning he found his friend and roommate Robert Jordan, also known as "Bob", with a gunshot wound - laying in bed.

Davis called 911.

"The ambulance got here and they took care of what they could do," Davis said.

Jordan died on his way to the hospital.

Police say they found the suspected gunman 38-year-old Harold MacNeil about five hours later at his trailer on Carter Lakeview Ln.

He was taken into custody after an hour long standoff.

Davis says he's known Jordan for over 20 years.

"He (cared) about everybody - he helped me with my pick up, he got it running right again, he worked on the lawn mowers," Davis said.

Davis says Jordan loved to hunt and to fish down at Carter Lake.

"He was a good kid, he'd help anybody - he's helped a lot of people," Davis said. "He's going to be missed that's for sure."

Police say they are still investigating what led up to the shooting and are still searching for the murder weapon.

MacNeil was booked into the Marshall County jail for first degree murder.
