Gainesville man arrested for cattle theft

GAINESVILLE, Tex. (KXII) - A Gainesville man faces several charges accused of stealing cattle from his business partner, then selling them.

Rangers with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association tell us Jacky Davis tried to sell 12 head of longhorn crossbred cattle in Decatur, but a buyer there noticed their familiar brand and called the owner.

Davis had been leasing land to and caring for some of the victim's cattle.

He turned himself into the Cooke County Jail Monday and is free on $10,000 bond.
