Former Garvin Co. escapee sentenced on federal weapon charge

GARVIN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for gun charges.

The US Attorney's office says 32-year-old Glen Willis was convicted of being a felon in possession of firearm, and concealing a stolen firearm.

An indictment handed down in 2017 says Willis had the gun shipped to him, knowing it was stolen.

Willis escaped from the Garvin County Jail in May, and the sheriff's office says he had previous run ins with the law including involvement in a drive by shooting and assaulting a jailer.
