Grand jury finds shooting death of bank robber justified

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - A Grayson County Grand Jury has determined the use of deadly force was justified in an officer-involved shooting in Sherman earlier this month.

Officers shot and killed Terry Cagle, 73, on March 2 after a bank robbery.

Police say a witnessed called them after the First Texoma National Bank at FM 1417 and U.S. 82 was robbed. The caller followed Cagle until the police arrived.

Officers say Cagle resued to comply with demands and exited his car with a gun pointed at officers.

Police later identified Cagle as a serial bank robber.
