BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) -- A grass fire in Bryan County and Johnston County closed down SH 78 and 199 from Silo Road for a short time Tuesday afternoon.

Crews on about 30 fire trucks spent hours battling blaze after blaze, burning more than 250 acres.

Traffic was stalled either north or west from the Silo Road, SH 78 intersection.

Firefighters are still on the scene, watching for hot spots.

Witnesses reported that a wrecker dragging a chain from 199 to Silo Road may have sparked several fires.

Eight different departments responded and the exact cause is not clear yet. No structures were hit.
