Grayson Co. reports 69 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - The Grayson County Health Department confirmed 69 new positive COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, for a total of 268 in the county.

Grayson County Health Department Director Amanda Ortes says 67 of the new patients are isolated at home and 2 are hospitalized.

The new patients range in ages from late teens to 60s.

Of the new cases, 54 are from Sherman, nine are from Denison, one is from Bells, one is from Collinsville, one is from Whitewright, one is from Whitesboro, one if from Van Alstyne and one is from Sadler.

"Sixty-eight of the new confirmed cases have had close contact with another confirmed case," Ortez said. "One had no known exposure to any confirmed case or recent history of travel."

The GCHD Public Health Emergency Preparedness team is identifying and contacting anyone who may have been exposed.

As of Wednesday, 76 patients in Grayson County have recovered.
