DENISON, Tex. (KXII) - Grayson College has announced it will be canceling commencement and other ceremonies.

A press release from the college on Thursday states the may commencement ceremony, Center for Workplace Learning Graduation, Associate Degree Nurse Pinnin and other celebrations are canceled.

While there is no ceremony, the college says students will still graduate.

"It is our sincerest hope that graduates will walk the stage during a future commencement ceremony," the statement said.

The campus also announced it intends to close residence halls as soon as possible. Students unable to secure other housing are asked to contact the Director of Student Life and Housing, OL Kelly, for further instruction.

College officials say there will be no face-to-face classes through April 3, but online classes will begin March 23.

Students are asked to look for messages from their professors.

While the campus is closed to the public, the bookstore and other resources will be available online.
