Grayson County adopted Aransas County and will be helping out the 23,000 residents recovering from damage inflicted by Hurricane Harvey.

Rockport and Port Aransas were two of the cities damaged in the storm.

On Thursday, Grayson County Emergency Manager Sarah Somers discussed ways residents can help.

"It makes us feel great because it is a skill set that we have and that we know that we can help with," Grayson County Sheriff Lt. Sarah Bigham said.

One of the needs was bug spray, and another crucial need is police cruisers because the Aransas County Sheriff's cars were destroyed in the high water.

Grayson County Sheriff's Department is loaning five patrol units to Aransas County officers to help.
