Hagerman Wildlife Refuge raises money for new tram

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) One of the programs provided by Friends of Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is the weekend tram tour.

It's an interactive attraction that is packed with stops to take pictures, and opportunities to learn the history of Hagerman.

They're trying to raise $25,000. All would go towards a new tram.

The current one has been giving rides for about 6 years, but head of the program, Bert Garcia, says it's time for a replacement.

"We've been told by experts it's probably reaching the end of its life, and before we find ourselves with a dead tram, we're trying to raise the funds to replace the tram," says Garcia.
