Hagerman mostly back open after flooding

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is beginning to open back up after over two months of rain.

Officials with the refuge say most of the area had been underwater for around 10 weeks.

Now, people can come back and enjoy Hagerman as most of their trails and day use areas have reopened.

Although most of the area has opened back up, they still have some cleaning up to do.

"We still have a little bit of work to do. There are some signs that need to be put back up and cleaned. Still some canopy, structures that need to be reinstalled. We aren't completely out of the woods yet, but we are getting there," said Deputy Manager Paul Balkenbush.
