Muddy End to March: Heavy Rain Event Develops
6:25 pm Wed 21 March 2018
It’s been a very dry month with most Texoma locations receiving almost no rain during the past three weeks; that looks to be changing during the period March 27-29.
Rain potential ramps upward as a deep upper low takes shape over California and sends a series of upper waves overhead. Each of these will be capable of triggering showers and thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, a nearly stationary cold front will enhance lift during the period. All of this points to a major rain event for the middle of next week with totals of three to five inches quite possible.
A second cold front crawls through Texoma later in the week; as the upper low opens up into a wave and passes to our east the rain event should end by Friday or Saturday. So, at this point Easter Sunday looks dry.
