Honey Grove man indicted for manslaughter

BONHAM, Tex. (KXII) -- The Fannin County District Attorney's office indicted a Honey Grove man for manslaughter after dropping murder charges against him.

Billy Basye, 36, was originally indicted for allegedly killing Rachel Roberts and her 8-year-old son Tyler Roberts in a traffic incident on State Highway 56.

Rachel Roberts was driving west on SH 56 when Basye allegedly crossed the center line, striking her vehicle. Rachel and Tyler Roberts were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers in Roberts' vehicle were injured.
