ADA, Okla. (KXII) - Pontotoc County deputies and OSBI are investigating a homicide that occurred Monday evening.
Sheriff John Christian says deputies received a call around 5 p.m. regarding an unresponsive male subject in a residence near the Lazy Acre addition on the east side of Ada.
When first responders arrived on the scene they observed 62-year-old Jerry Taylor to be deceased as the apparent victim of a homicide.
A family member had been conducting a welfare check on Taylor after the family had not heard from in a a few days. Upon entering his house the family member found Taylor on the floor and unresponsive. The relative called 911.
Sheriff Christian says the investigation is still ongoing. He asks anyone with information to contact the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office at 580-332-4168.
