Just in time for fall! Beligian Waffles with "Fried Apples" and a Caramel Drizzle

Sherman, Tx So have you been to the fair yet? Save your pennies, or rather quarters, for extra coupons! One of my personal favorites is easy to recreate at home, and today we are crowning it with a touch of fall.

Beligian Waffles with "Fried Apples" and a Caramel Drizzle

I prepared my own buttermilk waffles, and cut them in triangles.
Dust them with powdered sugar, and then spoon on the apples below. Top with a swirl of caramel sauce to inhale autumn. ENJOY!

2 Tablespoons butter
1 large apple cored and sliced very, very thin
3 T sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 T chopped nuts (almonds or pecans) optional
1 T caramel sauce

1. If preparing apples ahead, mix powdered vitamin C with water and pour into a flat pie pan. Toss apples gently without breaking apple slices.

2. Melt the butter into the pan. When it starts to bubble, add the sliced apples. Sprinkle with the sugar/cinnamon blend. Stir gently until the sauce turns to syrup.

3. Spoon gently over the waffle and drizzle with caramel. Serve while warm.
