Ladonia pot bust under investigation

LADONIA, Tex. (KXII) - This week, the Fannin County Sheriff's Office held a search warrant out of Ladonia where they seized 2 illegal weapons and more than $3,000 worth of marijuana plants.

Officials are calling this ongoing investigation an elaborate situation. 3 suspects are being considered for the 224 marijuana plants found growing in a Ladonia home.

Lt. Frank Deater says one of their deputies tracked down the grow house after finding some of the marijuana plants a block away.

"It's an ongoing thing that we've been investigating. Things just culminated to a warrant. One of the deputies found some actual evidence in a dumpster and was able to get enough information," said Deater.

The illegal weapons, including what they believe to be a fully automatic rifle, are being investigated by a federal agency before arrests can be made.
