TOM BEAN, Tex. -- One person was taken to the hospital after a three vehicle crash involving a Leonard bus Friday afternoon.

The wreck happened on Highway 11 at Whispering Oaks Street in Tom Bean around 3:30 p.m.

A Leonard school bus and two trucks were involved.

According to Leonard School Superintendent Brad Maxwell said the varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams were on board traveling to Howe for a match.

None of the players were seriously hurt.

The drive of the green truck was transported to a local hospital.

Terri Zayas Punzel of Tom Bean said the driver of the green truck is her son 17-year-old Tristan Punzel.

She said he has lots of cuts and bruises but he will be okay.

Punzel told News12 her son was rear-ended by another truck who pushed him into the path of the bus.

The driver of the red truck was uninjured.

The Leonard-Howe match was postponed until Saturday.
