DENISON, Tex. (KXII) -- CJ's Coffee Cafe is now home to internationally award - winning coffee, three varieties in fact.
The chain entered the Golden Bean Global Roasters Competition for the first time this year and brought home a silver and two bronze medals.
The competition was held in Portland and is open to all coffee roasters in North and South America as well as Australia.
The owners of CJ's say they want to put Texoma on the map as a legitimate coffee culture climate.
"We tried out in three categories and then we placed in, we placed three medals with that so it was a lot of fun. There were over 200 coffee roasters there," said Jonathan Gentry.
"We like to say that we're bringing the coffee culture to Sherman and in a way, that's new and educational," said Nancy Gentry.
The Gentry's say with this success in their first competition ... their only choice now is to go for the gold next year.
