Local leaders are Sherman ISD "Principals for a Day"

SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - Local leaders in Sherman got a chance to step in as principal of Sherman ISD schools on Thursday.

Twelve community members went to the 12 Sherman campuses to shadow the principals, including News 12 anchor Dan Thomas, and other local business and religious leaders.

The locals were able to interact with students, faculty and staff to build relationships.

Two of those people were Wakefield principal Eartha Linson and Grace United Methodist pastor Frank Drenner who say this is a great program.

"It's a great advantage for us to see what we do, how we're really growing Bearcats," Linson said.

"We see teaching and administrating as a ministry," Drenner added. "We want them to feel loved, and it brings us joy."

The principal for a day program is an annual event and community partners change every year.
