Police, state agents investigate Madill murder

MADILL, Okla. (KXII) - Police and state agents are investigating a murder in Madill.

Police spokesman Donnie Raley said officers conducting a welfare check Thursday afternoon discovered the body of Joe Lindsey, 52, inside a home in the 200 block of North 7th Avenue.

Raley said police requested the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the OSBI, police were called to check on Lindsey at the request of a neighbor who had not seen him for a week. Officers forced entry into the residence and found Lindsey dead inside.

No further details, including how police believe Lindsey died, have yet been released.
