Man arrested for damaging Marshall County Jail cell with bunk bed

James Caleb Johnson (Marshall County Jail)

MADILL, Okla. (KXII) - The Madill man wanted on charges of injuring a public building after allegedly using his bunk bed to try and bust the door open has been arrested.

Sheriff Danny Cryer said 32-year-old James Caleb Johnson was serving time for drug-related offenses in late December and requested time off of his sentence to spend time with family for Christmas.

"Due to his attitude and his actions while he was incarcerated, I was not able to give him any extra time off of his sentence," Cryer said. "This made him very angry and enraged."

Surveillance video shows Johnson ramming his bed against the door several times.

Damage included gouges and dents on the door, chips in the concrete wall and the lock on the door being bent.

Johnson made his initial court appearance on Tuesday.
