Man arrested in Paris failed to register as sex offender

PARIS, Tex. (KXII) - A man who failed to register as a sex offender was arrested in Lamar County after a traffic stop.

Paris Police say they pulled a vehicle over around 10 a.m. Tuesday for failing to stop at a stop sign.

They say the driver initially gave a false name, but later identified himself at 37-year-old Kenyon Bells.

Officers discovered Bells had an outstanding felony warrant for a sex offender registration violation out of Dallas, and was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

During a search of Bell's home, officers found 2 ounces of cocaine, 8.5 pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine and a pistol.

Bells was charged for manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance as well as another sex offender registration violation for failing to register in Lamar County.
