Man dies following Pontotoc Co. crash

ADA, Okla. (KXII) - Authorities say a man has died due to injuries sustained in an early March crash.

Troopers say a pickup truck was driving eastbound on State Highway 59A in Pontotoc County March 15 when it swerved to avoid an SUV traveling westbound in the eastbound lane.

The attached trailer jackknifed, causing the pickup to roll.

84-year-old passenger Ulmar Nix was flown to OU Medical Center for leg and head injuries. He succumbed to his injuries March 28.

The driver of the pickup, 53-year-old Loreta Nix, was flown to OU Medical center in stable condition for a head injury.

Passengers 62-year-old Belen Flores and 73-year-old Jacinto Flores were ejected in the crash. Belen was flown to OU Medical Center in stable condition for head and internal injuries. Jacinto was treated and released at Marcy Hospital in Ada.
