SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) -- A jury found a man guilty on Tuesday of driving recklessly and crashing into a van.
On Wednesday, he was sentenced to two years in state jail and eight years probation.
Roberto Alvarado was arrested this past February in Van Alstyne. Police said he was speeding north on SH 5 when he lost control and rear ended a mini van.
Alvarado was convicted of negligence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The mother and her two kids were not hurt.
Investigators said Alvarado said he was speeding for the adrenaline rush.
