Man jailed for rape, kidnapping in Ada

ADA, Okla. (KXII) - Ada Police arrested a man Tuesday evening accused of holding a woman against her will for several days and repeatedly sexually assaulting her.

Officers tell us just before 8 p.m.they were called to the Dollar General on West Main after the clerk reported a man and woman had just left the store. The clerk said the woman, visibly shaken and distraught, whispered to her, "Help me."

As officers were searching the area, the woman somehow made it back to the store, where she told them she had been kept by the man against her will for several days.

Officers identified the suspect as James Jordanoff, 34. The woman told officers he physically beat her and sexually assaulted her several times.

The victim identified a garage apartment in the 400 block between West Main and West 10th Streets where Jordanoff had been keeping her against her will.

When officers arrived, they heard a man yelling the victim's name. When Jordanoff saw it was police and not the victim, he took off on foot but police quickly caught and arrested him.

Jordanoff faces kidnapping, rape, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon among other charges.

He's being held in the Pontotoc County Justice Center without bond.
