SHERMAN, Tex. (KXII) - Police say a 65-year-old woman is in critical condition after getting shot at a Sherman home early Saturday morning.

Sherman Police Sgt. Brett Mullen says it happened around 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Anthony Drive near Stephens Circle.

Police say a woman had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital.

During the investigation, police say 49-year-old Clifton Drake of Round Rock returned to the scene in his car.

That's when police say a pursuit started and Drake led them westbound on US Highway 82 before turning back towards Sherman.

Police say Drake stopped briefly at the Grayson County Sheriff's Office before fleeing again.

Police arrested him when he came to a final stop on South US Highway 75.

Drake is in the Grayson County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.
