Pontotoc County deputies are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred Wednesday, one that left a man dead.

The first happened in a neighborhood on County Road 3536 near Latta Public School in Ada. Sheriff John Christian tells us two men who lived on the same street were arguing about a dog, and one man shot the other. The man shot has died from his injuries, and the shooter is cooperating with investigators, Christian said.

The second incident occurred at the Twin Lakes Trailer Park. Christian said an intoxicated man shot the back window of a car. No one was injured in that incident, Christian said.

The shootings are not related, Christian said.

Latta Public School posted on both incidents that both scenes have been secured, and there is no threat to the campus. The school day continued as normal.
