DENTON COUNTY, Tex. (KXII) - The measles outbreak reported in the northwest has made its way to Texas.

A case of measles was confirmed in Denton County on Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to seven.

The reports in Texas come from Harris, Galveston, Montgomery and Bell Counties.

Five of the cases involved young children, some of whom received one round of the two-part vaccine.

The announcements come as a measles outbreak hits the Pacific Northwest, where more than 50 cases have been confirmed.

The Grayson County Health Department says there are no confirmed cases in Grayson County as of Wednesday.
