Two fisherman landed a catch of a lifetime over the holiday weekend on Lake Texoma.

Oklahoma Game Wardens tell us Tim Butler and Canton Stafford were camping near McBride and had set out several rods in hopes of catching some catfish after dark.

Wardens say Tim grabbed one of the rods when he got a bite, set the hook, and fought the gigantic gar. He told them the monster stripped all his line twice before he got the beast to shore.

Wardens measured the alligator gar at 6 feet, 2 inches, with a 10.5 inch girth, weighing in at over 90 pounds.

Hear from the man who landed the monster and game wardens tonight on News 12 at 10:00.
