First degree murder charges have been filed against a man for killing two people in Ardmore last year.
Carlton Franklin, 32, was taken from Oklahoma County to Carter County Thursday morning.
In November, Karli Clearman of Ardmore and Justin Sullivan of Midwest City were found dead inside a burned car outside of Clearman's home.
According to the Department of Corrections records, Franklin was supposed to be serving nine years in a minimum security facility on a drug conviction at the time of the murder, but court records show he escaped a halfway house where both he and Sullivan were serving time.
"That I cannot say if he escaped, we do know that he obviously was not in the home where he was suppose to be at the time and that he was in the Ardmore area," Ardmore Asst. Police Chief Kevin Norris said.
If convicted, Franklin faces death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
