The North Texas Regional Airport has qualified for almost $70,000 of grant money through the CARES Act.

The $69,000 grant will be used to pay airport employees, maintenance and utilities.

NTRA director Mike Livezey went to the Grayson County Commissioner's meeting on Tuesday to get approval to submit the application.

"The government does see that there is a need, and we all need help because we have occurred some extra costs because of the coronavirus. This was a way to help us offset those costs and actually save a few dollars for the taxpayers," said Livezey.

Livezey says the grant will save taxpayers from having to pay the $69,000 the airport needs.
