Sherman and Denison made the New York Times over the weekend, in an article detailing cities with the highest daily growth number of COVID-19 positive cases, in the nation.

The article states that Sherman and Denison are among the top leading metro cities across the country to have a spike in positive cases within the last two weeks.

The New York Times reports that Sherman and Denison have a growth rate of 10 percent.

After reading the article, Grayson County Judge Bill Magers said those numbers are not community spread and the city has identified where the new positive cases came from.

"We're going to more positives in Grayson county, that's just the nature of the beast," Magers said.

"But because of our proactive health department, (and) because of the things we are doing with the state, we're following the governors protocols, I am not alarmed by these numbers. I'm disappointed, as everyone should be, but again we are working with these industries to identify these individuals and separate them from the community,so I think we're going to be just fine," Magers said.

continues to update and as of Tuesday, Sherman-Denison is the second highest in positive cases per day.
