TISHOMINGO, Okla. (KXII) -- Less than an hour away from his Johnston County ranch, country- star Blake Shelton now has a Hawaiian-themed lake home built right on Lake Texoma.

Folks in Tishomingo say it's a wedding gift for his fiance, singer Gwen Stefani.

"That's pretty cool, to build a house for your fiance." Resident Kim Jones said. "So, we hope Gwen likes it here in Oklahoma as much as we all do. It's a pretty nice place to live."

Blake's new neighbors at Soldier Creek say the couple celebrated Labor Day at their new Marshall County lake house.....complete with three tiki huts and a pool.

"It's a beautiful place, and has a beautiful view of Lake Texoma." Resident Jerry Lawley said.

The 40-year-old country crooner kicked off his fall tour last week in Oklahoma City...where 46-year-old Stefani joined him for a duet.

Blake's friends and neighbors in Tishomingo say they look forward to his return to the area after the tour ends.

"Tishomingo loves Blake Shelton. He really tries hard to generate some business, and he's real easy to talk to." Jones said. "So everyone appreciates the work he's done."

Shelton and country singer Miranda Lambert divorced last year. When Lambert closed her downtown Tishomingo store, the Pink Pistol, it was Blake who came to the rescue.

"We're all pretty confident in town that Blake's really working as hard as he can to re-generate some business and activity in town." Jones said. "We all feel pretty confident that he's going to do something really amazing."

Tishomingo residents say Shelton has bought several store fronts along Main Street. Locals believe a restaurant, or a watering hole, could be 'brewing'.

"We love Blake here, and look forward to whatever endeavor he chooses to do." Lawley said.
