Oklahoma man arrested after assaulting deputy

JOHNSTON COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A Ravia man is behind bars after assaulting a deputy earlier in August.

Marcus James Baxter, 27, faces felony charges of assault and battery on a police officer, attempted escape from arrest and child neglect.

The Sheriff's office says Baxter became combative when a deputy and DHs worker visited his house to check on the welfare of his infant child.

His bond has been set at $250,000.
