Oklahoma school carry bill passes house

OKLAHOMA CITY (KXII) - A bill allowing authorized personnel to carry guns on campus passed through the Oklahoma House of Representatives on Thursday.

House Bill 2336 would allow school districts to authorize personnel to carry a handgun on school property.

The authorized personnel would be required to posses either a valid armed security guard license or hold a valid reserve peace officer certification.

The district would have the power to designate school personnel to attend an armed security guard training.

The bill passed the House 72-25. It will be heard by the senate next.
